Each fish is handcrafted with shells primarily collected from Martha's Vineyard. I use a variety of local shells in my works including bay scallop, sea scallop, razor clam, horseshoe crab, and quahog.
Life on the Island has given me the opportunity to explore my artistic techniques and branch away from traditional painting.
Since creating my first Striper in 2018, I have developed my technique, using new tools and carefully crafting each scale to the appropriate size and color. Today, I collect, clean, and sort my shells into different types and shades, creating my own palette of natural colors that I use to bring my fish to life.
